Upcoming Festivals In Keystone Ski Resort - Colorado
By Peter Reeburgh
Keystone Colorado Festivals
Keystone is home to one of the most popular and best ski resorts in
North America, offering one of the longest ski seasons thanks to some
of the most advanced snow making equipment available and the high
altitude of the Rocky Mountains. Keystone is also home to the longest
ski day in Colorado with the vast area of lit ski trails so you can ski
at night.
In addition to skiing during the winter season in Keystone Colorado,
you can also snowboard, cross-country ski, go tubing, snowshoe and
enjoy some fun local festivals. Keystone Colorado has something for
everyone each season of the year. No wonder so many people are finding
that Keystone is one of the most up and coming places to visit in
Colorado!
Coming Winter 2006/2007 to Keystone Colorado are the following festivals:
Wine in the Pines
October 20 and 21 in Keystone’s Lakeside Park.
This 23rd annual event is the top wine and culinary event in Summit
County. Enjoy fine food prepared by top Keystone Colorado chefs paired
with exquisite wines from around the world. The event benefits Cerebral
Palsy of Colorado. To obtain tickets call 800-239-9294 or visit

Bring your snow gear and your formal attire. After the first full day
of skiing in 2006/2007 season, change your clothes and stay for the
formal event of the season at the Green Light in River Run Village.
Make sure you don’t have to drive home!
36 Hours in Keystone
December 1 and 2 in Keystone’s River Run Village.
For 36 hours the slopes in Keystone Colorado are open and you can ski
or ride to your hearts delight or at least as long as your legs will
allow. During 36 Hours in Keystone you can enjoy the slopes during the
day and then come back for a little night skiing. Get up at any hour of
the night and hit the slopes. For the competitive, participate in the
36 Hour Team Challenge or the Keystone 36 Express Challenge and win
cash prizes. This is the third annual 36 Hours in Keystone and it is
the true kick-off to the 2006/2007 snow season.
Mardi Gras Street Party
February 20 in Keystone’s River Run Village.
Need we say more than drinking, dancing, bead collecting, street
performers, gumbo and a float parade? The River Run Plaza will be
converted into the Big Easy. That’s right Keystone Colorado transforms
itself into New Orleans for what promises to be the wildest night of
the winter season. You will definitely want to stay close by. Save your
money for the food, beverages and Mardi Gras beads!
