Pattaya offers
some great attractions and sightseeing which are very family orientated
and certainly an entertainment for the kids that may have become a
little bored going to see temples and statues. One of the most popular
family attractions in Pattaya is the Million Year Stone Park and
Pattaya Crocodile farm; hundreds of these ancient reptiles live at the
crocodile farm which also features many other animals native to
Thailand, as well as a petrified tree that is a million years old.
Amongst the animal attractions in Pattaya there are of course the
elephants which you can find in the Pattaya Elephant Village; observe
the training methods used by the Thais who have used these animals
domestically for hundreds of years and for something a little different
watch the elephants play football! Elephant treks are available here
also, offering a unique way to see Pattaya and an unforgettable
sightseeing experience.
The two main zoo attractions in
Pattaya are the Khao Kheow Open Zoo and the Sri Racha Tiger Zoo. The
Open Zoo is home to a large aviary featuring many species of native and
non-native birds set in a lush forest whilst at the Tiger Zoo tourists
can not only see these big cats, but also get to know them on a more
personal level as guests are allowed to hold and feed the baby tigers
here; the Sri Racha Tiger Zoo is one of the most popular children’s
attractions in Pattaya.
Pattaya also has an aquarium
attraction; Underwater World Pattaya displays the diverse marine life
found in Thailand’s native shores, including larger fish like sharks,
moray eels and groupers as well as a vast array of beautifully coloured
corals and coral reef fishes. This recent and popular sightseeing
attraction features an underwater tunnel that represents a perfect
depiction of the sea life found around the coasts of Thailand.
For a pleasant walk in the open air visit Nong Nooch Tropical garden in
South Pattaya, and stroll through the orchid nursery and other
botanical gardens that are home to a wide variety of tropical plants.
For added visitor entertainment this traditionally landscaped garden
provides elephants shows, and displays of martial arts, handicraft
making and dance daily.
Mini Siam shows scaled down
versions of many famous Thai heritage sites and historical buildings as
well as many European structures. The models are located in a large
natural setting and make a pleasant day out for all the family. For
something a little different try Ripley’s “Believe it or not” which is
home to fascinating oddities and eye opening exhibits from all over the
world. For further entertainment it also has two high tech features, a
laser trek war game and simulated ride which are sure to keep the kids
amused. Another slightly unusual Pattaya attraction is The Bottle of
Art Museum which shows artistic creations by a Dutch Sculptor which
involve recreating temples, historical sites and tourist sightseeing
attractions inside glass bottles.
The two main park
attractions on Pattaya are the Pattaya Water Park and Pattaya Park
Beach Resort and Amusement Park. The former is an often welcome escape
from Pattaya’s tropical heat featuring a Jacuzzi and massive water
slide whilst the latter accommodates an amusement park, cable jump and
cable car ride, as well the Park Tower which is home to three revolving
restaurants that offer great views not only of the park attraction but
also of the surrounding area of Pattaya.
