Pattaya Beer Bars

A figure of over 2,000 beer bars in town may even be on the low side. Every day there is a new opening and an old one changing names, who knows how many really exist and quite frankly who cares? Very few of them are anything special and the ones that are stand out of the crowd in a big way. Especially the ones with a westerner who knows what he is doing as most seem to be operated by people who have no idea how to run a bar.
Often you get 20 or more beer bars together all trying to play their music louder than the bar next to them creating for us the customer headache central and an experience that I for one hate. There are several large areas where there are many bars, but there is a growing number of small venues, both in town, out of town and on the main roads from town to the highway. They are in Pattaya, Jomtien, Naklua - in fact anywhere were there are potential customers. Personally we never frequent beer bars as firstly its simply to hot and 2ndly its nice to se what your getting in a go go bar, I hate getting home with my date for the night only to find she has had 12 kids but looked great in clothes at the beer bar. Sure you will pay a bit more for a Go Go girl but boy is it worth it. Go Go Bars regularly check their girls for STD's and HIV, also they have the girls ID card, meaning if your girl decides to do a runner with your wallet while your in the shower the Go Go bar can sort the problem out, a beer bar in general cannot since many of the girls are freelancers and not employees in the beer bars. The majority of the bars are in the main tourist areas, although there are lots out of the tourist areas catering to expats. Beer bars can be fun for a few drinks however a nicely air coned Go Go bar with half naked Thai Girls although a bit more expensive is the way to go in our opinion
